Habitat for Humanity

Funds from the Charitable Contribution Fund support the Jimmy Johnson Memorial Vocational Education program. They cover the hard costs of constructing Habitat houses built by vocational education students, one house by the Career Center and one house by Forsyth Technical Community College. The fund will grow further through the efforts of the development staff of Habitat for Humanity, who is responsible for securing major gifts from the corporate community.

The HBAWS was the first business partner of a secondary education program in the state of North Carolina. "Learn by doing" has always been a tried and true technique in Vocational Education. The HBAWS is excited about this opportunity and believes that the Jimmy Johnson Memorial Vocational Education Fund is a great way for the HBAWS to support the Career Center and Forsyth Technical Community College in their efforts to train and educate future professionals in our field.
