HBAWS Community Partnerships
The Winston-Salem Foundation is a community foundation that partners charitable people with causes that matter. All the contributed funds from our HBAWS members go through the Winston Salem Foundation.

The Charitable Contributions Committee raises charitable funds to support Vocational Education programs and one other agency each year. The first $25,000 raised each year by the Association is earmarked for the Jimmy Johnson Memorial Vocational Education Fund at Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County for the Voc Ed programs.
The Vocational Education Fund covers the hard costs of constructing Habitat houses built by vocational education students, one house by the WSFCS Career Center and one house by Forsyth Technical Community College.
Our association was the first business partner of a secondary education program in the state of North Carolina. "Learn by doing" has always been a tried and true technique in Vocational Education. Your Board of Directors feels strongly about the continuation of this partnership and believes that the Jimmy Johnson Memorial Vocational Education Fund is a great way for the HBA to support the Career Center and Forsyth Technical Community College in their efforts to train and educate future professionals in our field.
